This is a skillfully written book by Ms Ashley and Mr. McCarver. Nathan becomes a itinerant preacher hoping it will take away the guilt of accidentally killing a man in self-defense. He is invited to stay at the plantation of Abigail and her parents. Abigail is headstrong, because she believes in women’s suffrage. There were a few instances where I thought she was a little annoying with her attitude toward Nathan. However, in the end she realized that as long as she is married to a godly man, she can still retain her own opinions. I definitely will read other books by these authors.
